It is easy to be negative about past mistakes and unhappiness. But it is much more healing to look at ourselves and our past in the light of experience, acceptance, and growth.
Our past is a series of lessons that advance us to higher levels of living and loving. The relationships we entered, stayed in, or ended taught us necessary lessons.
Some of us have emerged from the most painful circumstances with strong insights about who we are and what we want. Our mistakes? Necessary. Our frustrations, failures, and sometimes stumbling attempts at growth and progress? Necessary too. Each step of the way, we learned. We went through exactly the experiences we need to, to become who we are today. Each step of the way, we progressed. Is our past a mistake? No. The only mistake we can make is mistaking that for the truth.
Today, God, help me let go of negative thoughts I may be harboring about my past circumstances or relationships. I can accept, with gratitude, all that has brought me to today.

A Lesson in Life
Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, if they be events, illnesses or relationships, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere.
If someone hurts you, betrays you , or breaks you heart, forgive them. For they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to who you open your heart to.
If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them.
Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.
Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you either.
You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.

Duniya ni ajaybi
સાતમા ધોરણનો ભૂગોળનો ક્લાસ ચાલતો હતો. શિક્ષકે દુનિયાની સાત અજાયબીઓની નોંધ કરવાનુ િવદ્યાર્થીઓને કહ્યું. માંડ માંડ કરીને દરેક વિદ્યાર્થીએ નીચે મુજબ સાત અજાયબીઓ લખી. ઃ
૧) ઇિજપ્ત ના પિરામિડ
૨) તાજમહાલ
૩) પિઝાનો ઢળતો મિનારો
૪) પનામા નહેર
૫) અમ્પાયર સ્ટેટ્સ બિલ્ડિન્ગ
૬) બેબીલોનના બગીચા
૭) ચીનની મહાન દીવાલ
શિક્ષકે બધાના કાગળ તપાસ્યા. એમના ધયાનમાં આવ્યુ કે એક છોકરી સાવ શાંત બેઠી હતી. કંઈક મુંઝાયેલી પણ લાગતી હતી. ઉપરાંત એણે પોતાનો કાગળ પણ શિક્ષકને બતાવ્યો નહોતો.
“કેમ બેટા, કંઈ તકલીફ છે ? યાદ નથી આવતું ?…” શિક્ષકે પુછ્યું.
“નહીં સર…એવું નથી. પણ મેં સાત અજાયબીઓ લખી છે એ તો બહુ ઓછી હોય એવું મને લાગે છે.”
શિક્ષકને નવાઇ લાગી. સાત અજાયબીઓ ભેગી કરવામાં પણ બધાને લોચા પડતા હતા, ત્યાં આ છોકરી તો ઘણી બધી અજાયબીઓની વાત કરે છે !
“ચાલ બોલ જોઉં તો…, તેં કઈ સાત અજાયબીઓ લખી છે?” શિક્ષકે પુછ્યું.
પેલી બાળકી થોડીક ખચકાઈ, પછી પોતાના કાગળ સામે જોઈ બોલી…
મારા માનવા મુજબ વિશ્વ ની સાત અજાયબીઓ છે ઃ
૧) સ્પર્શવું
૨) સ્વાદ પારખવો
૩) જોય શકવું
૪) સાંભળી શકવું
૫) દોડી શકવું , કુદી શકવું
૬) હસવું અને,
૭) ચાહવું, પ્રેમ કરવો
શિક્ષક સ્તબ્ધ બની ગયા. ક્લાસમાં પણ શાંિત છવાય ગઈ. એમને થયું કે ભલે ભૂગોળની દ્રશ્ટ્ીએ આ ખોટું હોય પણ છોકરી જરા પણ ખોટી નથી…….

કડકતી વીજળી નો ઉજાસ ક્ષણવાર હોય છે,
વારસાદ મા લાગતા દાગ અપરંપાર હોય છે.
સંમ્બન્ધો મા શબ્દો પર મદાર હોય છે,
શબ્દોની પણ કાતિલ એક ધાર હોય છે.
મન મા ભટ્કતા અનેક વિચાર હોય છે,
ક્યારેક ભટકી જવા માજ શાર હોય છે.
તબિબો પણ આમતો ઘણા બિમાર હોય છે,
દિલ જીતનારના હાથમા કયાં તલવાર હોય છે?.
અમિરો ને પૈસાની બહુ ભરમાર હોય છે,
પણ તેનો ક્યાંકોઇ સાચો દિલદાર હોય છે?.
જીવતા આદમી નું કલેજુ ઠંડુગાર હોય છે,
કબરમા સુતેલ હૈયામા પણ ધબકાર હોય છે.
ગગન નો વરસાદ મંદ મથાર હોય છે,
અશ્રુ ના શ્રાવણ ભાદરવા ચૌધર હોય છે.
મન્દિરમા જઇ ભિખ માંગતા શાહુકાર હોય છે,
રસ્તે રઝ્ડતો ભિખારિ વધુ ખુદાર હોય છે.
દુનિયા દારી નો રોકડો વેપાર હોય છે,
દારિયાદિલના ખાતે બોલતું ગણુ ઉધાર હોય છે.
રાજાઓ ના મહેલો પણ નર્કાગાર હોય છે,
રંક્ના દિલમા પણ ભરાતા દરબાર હોય છે.
નાની મોટી અથડામણો તો બેસુમાર હોય છે,
વિચારો નો ટ્કરાવ ઘણો ગમખ્વાર હોય છે.
રુપૂમતિ ઐશ્વરિયાઓ પાસે કિમતી હાર હોય છે,
સાધુને તો સાદગીજ એક અલંકાર હોય છે.
નેતાઓની વાણીમા ઠાલા વચનોનો રણકાર હોય છે,
પીડાતી પ્રજાનુ મૌન એક ચિત્કર હોય છે.

Father's day
કોઈક અકળ કારણસર આપણો પિતૃપ્રેમ એટલો બોલકો નથી. કહેવતો અને
રૃઢિપ્રયોગોના લોકાચારમાં બાપને ભાગ્યે જ સ્થાન મળ્યું છે. મા એ મા જ રહે
છે અને બીજા વગડાના વા ગણાય છે, પરંતુ બાપની સરખામણીએ બીજા સંબંધો વગડાના
સાપ નથી ગણાતા. સમાજની રૃઢિને ઘોડીએ ચડતો બાપ મરે એનો વાંધો નથી, પરંતુ
દળણાં દળતી મા ન મરવી જોઈએ. અફકોર્સ ન જ મરવી જોઈએ, પરંતુ બાપ મરે તેનો
કશો વાંધો નહિ?
કુરુક્ષેત્રના મેદાનમાં અઢાર અક્ષૌહિણી સેના આયુધો ખખડાવી રહી છે ત્યારે
દૂર હસ્તિનાપુરમાં રાજમહેલની અટારી પર બેઠેલો ધૃતરાષ્ટ્ર દૂરદૃષ્ટિનું
વરદાન ધરાવતા અંગત સચિવ સંજયને પૂછે છે,
ધર્મક્ષેત્રે કુરુક્ષેત્રે સમવેતા યુયુત્સવઃ
મામકાઃ પાન્ડવાશ્ચૈવ કિમકુર્વત સંજય
...અને આ શ્લોક સાથે ભગવદ્ગીતાનો આરંભ થાય છે, જેમાં ઉપનિષદોનું દોહન અને
ભારતીય તત્ત્વચિંતનનો અર્ક હોવાનું કહેવાય છે એ શ્લોકમાં સહજ રીતે એક
બાપનું હૃદય પણ, મામકાઃ સ્વરૃપે વ્યક્ત થઈ જાય છે. અંધ ધૃતરાષ્ટ્ર
દુર્યોધન પ્રત્યેના તેના વાત્સલ્ય માટે પણ એટલો જ આંધળો ગણાય છે. તેણે
પોતાનાં સંતાનોનાં હિત માટે પાંડવોને અન્યાય કર્યો, પુત્રમોહવશ થઈને તેણે
દુર્યોધનનાં દુષ્કૃત્યોને છાવર્યાં અને સરવાળે આખું મહાભારત ઊભું
કર્યાનું આળ ધૃતરાષ્ટ્ર પર સહસ્ત્રો વર્ષોથી મુકાતું રહ્યું છે. વિખ્યાત
નાટયકાર બાદલ સરકારના નાટકનો ધૃતરાષ્ટ્ર આક્રોશભેર પૂછે છે, ‘હું મારાં
સંતાનોને ચાહુ એ મારો વાંક છે?’ સાહિત્યની પરિભાષામાં ધૃતરાષ્ટ્ર એક
સંકુલ પાત્ર (કોમ્પ્લેક્સ્ડ કેરેક્ટર) છે, પરંતુ ખરેખર તો આપણો સમાજ પોતે
પણ ઓછો કોમ્પ્લેક્સ્ડ નથી. ધૃતરાષ્ટ્ર પોતાનાં સંતાનોને અનહદ ચાહે છે અને
તેમની આંધળી તરફદારી કરે છે માટે બદનામ છે. મહાત્મા ગાંધી પોતાનાં
સંતાનોની સ્હેજ પણ તરફદારી ન થઈ જાય તેની તલવારની ધાર જેવી તીક્ષ્ણ દરકાર
રાખે છે માટે બદનામ છે. આ બે અંતિમ વચ્ચે સમાજની તાસિર અને બાપ નામની
વ્યક્તિની તસવીર પ્રકટ થતી રહે છે.
માતાનું વાત્સલ્ય અને પિતાનો પ્રેમ નદીના બે એવા કાંઠા છે જેની વચ્ચેથી
હરેકની જિંદગી વહેતી રહી છે. અને તેમ છતાંય દિલ પર હાથ મૂકીને કહેવું પડે
કે હરેકનો એક કાંઠા પ્રત્યેનો ઝુકાવ જરાક વધારે હોય છે. પિતા જ્યારે
યુવાન હોય છે ત્યારે આકરી મહેનત કરતો રહે છે. રોજ સવારે સ્મિત સાથે એ
ઘરેથી નીકળે છે અને સાંજ પડયેય એ સ્મિત બરકરાર રાખે છે-આવતીકાલની ઉજળી
આશા માટે. એ પ્રૌઢ થાય એ પહેલાં તેના કપાળ પર ત્રણ રેખા અંકિત થવા લાગે
છે, આંખોની નીચે કાળાં કુંડાળાં વહેલાં પડે છે અને મૂછના વાળમાં સફેદી
છવાવા લાગે છે છતાંય સાંજ પડયે ઘરે પાછા ફરતા ચહેરા પરનું સ્મિત એવું ને
એવું જ રહે છે, કારણ કે સંતાનો હજુ કોલેજમાં પ્રવેશી રહ્યાં છે. હજુ તો
ઘણી મજલ કાપવાની છે. માતાના વાત્સલ્યનાં ગુણગાન આપણે બે મોઢે ગાતા રહીએ

દૃશ્ય. રજાના દિવસે મોડી રાત્રે ખાણી-પીણીની હોટેલો પાસે એકઠા થયેલા
જમેલા વચ્ચે એક માણસ રમકડાં વેચી રહ્યો છે. રમકડાની કિંમત છે મહઝ દસ
રૃપિયા. દુકાનદારોના હડદોલા અને લોકોના ધુત્કારને ચૂપચાપ સહેતો એ સતત
ફરતો રહે છે. આખરે એક રમકડું વેચાય છે. દસની નોટ હાથમાં આવે એ સાથે તેના
ચહેરા પર ફરકતી ખુશાલી અમે દૂર બેસીનેય અનુભવીએ છીએ. એ દબાતા પગલે એક
ખૂમચાવાળા પાસેથી ભેળની પ્લેટ ખરીદે છે. દૂર એક ઓટલા પાસે તે જાય
છે-જ્યાં તેની પત્ની અને એક બાળક તેની રાહ જોઈને બેઠાં છે. અને વિજયી
સ્મિત સાથે એ ભેળની પ્લેટ ધરે છે. પત્ની અને બાળકની આંખોમાં પરમ અહોભાવ
છે અને એ પુરુષની આંખોમાં છે પરમ સંતૃપ્તિ. વેલ, એ બાપ મરે એ પાલવશે?
પરિવારમાં આખરે બાપની કેવી ભૂમિકા અપેક્ષિત છે? દિવસ આખો એ વૈતરું કરે
છે,કારણ કે તેના ઘરની સુખાકારી તેના પર અવલંબે છે. અણગમતી જગ્યાએ,
અણગમતાં કામો વચ્ચે અપમાનો સહીનેય એ નોકરી કરતો રહે છે,કારણ કે તેણે
સંતાનોને સારું ભવિષ્ય ઘડી આપવાનું છે. એસટીની બસના બે રૃપિયા બચાવવા
માટે હકડેઠઠ ભરેલી છકડો રીક્ષામાં એ પગના અંગૂઠાના જોરે ઊભો રહે છે,કારણ
કે કોલેજમાં ભણતા દીકરા માટે તેને બાઈક ખરીદવું છે. બહારની વિપદાને એ કદી
ઘરમાં નથી લાવતો. ઓફિસની લાચારીને એ કાયમ ઘરના દરવાજાની બહાર લૂછીને જ
ઘરમાં પગ મૂકે છે, કારણ કે તેણે વગર કહ્યે અને વગર પૂછયે સંતાનો માટે એક
ઉદાહરણ પૂરું પાડવાનું છે. અને બદલામાં એ કશું જ માંગતો નથી. ના, પોતાના
માટે એક કહેવત પણ નહિ. એક રૃઢિપ્રયોગ પણ નહિ! કારણ કે એ એક બાપ છે-ચટ્ટાન
જેવો અડીખમ અને એટલો જ ઋજુ. પરિવારની સુખાકારી માટે એ કશાની તમા નથી

Pure water
એક વખત ભગવાન બુદ્ધ રાજગૃહમાં હતા. લોકોને પોતાના પ્રવચનનો લાભ આપ્યા બાદ
સંધ્યાકાળે બુદ્ધ તેમના શિષ્યો સાથે બેસીને વિવિધ વિષયો પર ચર્ચા કરતા
રહેતા હતા. આમ કરવાથી શિષ્યોના જ્ઞાનમાં અભિવૃદ્ધિ થતી અને બુદ્ધ પણ
તેમના શિષ્યોનું બૌદ્ધિક સ્તર જાણી શકતા હતા.
એક દિવસ અચાનક તેમણે એક સવાલ કર્યો કે સૌથી ઉત્તમ જળ કર્યું છે? એક
શિષ્યએ તુરંત જ જવાબ આપ્યો કે ગંગાજળ. બીજો શિષ્ય બોલ્યો, જમીન પર પડતું
વરસાદનું પ્રથમ પાણી. ત્રીજા શિષ્યે જણાવ્યું કે વહેલી સવારે પડતાં
ઝાકળના બિંદુઓ. બુદ્ધને આ જવાબથી પણ સંતોષ થયો નહીં.
ચોથા શિષ્યની દ્રષ્ટિએ ખોવાઈ ગયેલા પુત્રને મળ્યા બાદ માની આંખોમાંથી
વહેતા અશ્રુ સૌથી ઉત્તમ જળ હતું, તો પાંચમા શિષ્યના અનુસાર છેતરપિંડીથી
એકઠું કરેલું ધન જોઈને મરણપથારીએ પડેલા ધનવાનની આંખોમાંથી પશ્વાત્તાપ
સ્વરૂપે નીકળતા અશ્રુથી ઉત્તમ બીજું કોઈ જળ ન હોઈ શકે. બુદ્ધે ફરીથી ના
પાડી અને બોલ્યા કે શું આનાથી પણ વધુ વંદનીય અને પવિત્ર જળ પણ છે ?
ઘણા સમયથી ચૂપચાપ બેઠેલો શિષ્ય આનંદ બોલ્યો, ઉનાળો, શિયાળો અને વરસાદમાં
રાત-દિવસ કઠોર મહેનત કરીને અમારા માટે અનાજ પેદા કરનારા ખેડૂતના
પરસેવાનું પાણી. આ જવાબ સાંભળીને બુદ્ધના ચહેરા પર સંતોષની લહેર દોડી ગઈ
અને તેમણે આનંદને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યા.
આ પ્રસંગ મહેનતની મહત્વતાનો બતાવે છે. જીવનમાં સફળતાનાં ઉચ્ચ શિખરો સર
ત્યારે જ કરી શકાય જ્યારે વ્યક્તિ સંપૂર્ણ ઉત્સાહ સાથે મહેનત કરે. મહેનત
દ્વારા કરવામાં આવેલું દરેક કર્મ હંમેશાં લાભદાયક જ હોય છે
સંધ્યાકાળે બુદ્ધ તેમના શિષ્યો સાથે બેસીને વિવિધ વિષયો પર ચર્ચા કરતા
રહેતા હતા. આમ કરવાથી શિષ્યોના જ્ઞાનમાં અભિવૃદ્ધિ થતી અને બુદ્ધ પણ
તેમના શિષ્યોનું બૌદ્ધિક સ્તર જાણી શકતા હતા.
એક દિવસ અચાનક તેમણે એક સવાલ કર્યો કે સૌથી ઉત્તમ જળ કર્યું છે? એક
શિષ્યએ તુરંત જ જવાબ આપ્યો કે ગંગાજળ. બીજો શિષ્ય બોલ્યો, જમીન પર પડતું
વરસાદનું પ્રથમ પાણી. ત્રીજા શિષ્યે જણાવ્યું કે વહેલી સવારે પડતાં
ઝાકળના બિંદુઓ. બુદ્ધને આ જવાબથી પણ સંતોષ થયો નહીં.
ચોથા શિષ્યની દ્રષ્ટિએ ખોવાઈ ગયેલા પુત્રને મળ્યા બાદ માની આંખોમાંથી
વહેતા અશ્રુ સૌથી ઉત્તમ જળ હતું, તો પાંચમા શિષ્યના અનુસાર છેતરપિંડીથી
એકઠું કરેલું ધન જોઈને મરણપથારીએ પડેલા ધનવાનની આંખોમાંથી પશ્વાત્તાપ
સ્વરૂપે નીકળતા અશ્રુથી ઉત્તમ બીજું કોઈ જળ ન હોઈ શકે. બુદ્ધે ફરીથી ના
પાડી અને બોલ્યા કે શું આનાથી પણ વધુ વંદનીય અને પવિત્ર જળ પણ છે ?
ઘણા સમયથી ચૂપચાપ બેઠેલો શિષ્ય આનંદ બોલ્યો, ઉનાળો, શિયાળો અને વરસાદમાં

આ પ્રસંગ મહેનતની મહત્વતાનો બતાવે છે. જીવનમાં સફળતાનાં ઉચ્ચ શિખરો સર
ત્યારે જ કરી શકાય જ્યારે વ્યક્તિ સંપૂર્ણ ઉત્સાહ સાથે મહેનત કરે. મહેનત
દ્વારા કરવામાં આવેલું દરેક કર્મ હંમેશાં લાભદાયક જ હોય છે

ફકત ડિગ્રી મળવાથી જ્ઞાનપ્રાપ્તિ થતી નથી, લાયકાત કેળવાતી નથી, પરિણામે શિક્ષણનો મૂળભૂત હેતુ માર્યો જાય છે. શિક્ષણને પુસ્તક અને વર્ગખંડની ગુલામીમાંથી આઝાદી અપાવવાનો સમય આવી ચૂક્યો છે.
ક્ષણ એ ફક્ત માહિતીના ખજાનાથી મગજને ભરવાનું માધ્યમ નથી પરંતુ જ્ઞાનને પ્રજવલિત કરવાની પ્રક્રિયા છે. ૨૧મી સદીની નોલેજ ઇકોનોમીમાં કારકિર્દીને ભૌગોલિક સીમાડાઓ નડતા નથી. કારકિર્દી હવે માત્ર એન્જિનિયિંરગ, મેડિસિન, આટ્ર્સ, કોમર્સ અને સાયન્સ એમ પાંચ વિદ્યાશાખાઓ પૂરતી મર્યાદિત રહી નથી.
ઇન્ટરનેટના જમાનામાં માહિતીનું મૂલ્ય ઘટ્યું છે. જ્ઞાનનું મૂલ્ય વધ્યું છે. ગૂગલ પર કોઈ પણ વિષય અંગે સર્ચ કરો અને આંગળીના ટેરવે માહિતીનો ખજાનો ફાટી નીકળે છે, પણ જ્ઞાન મેળવવાનું કામ કપરું છે. ભારતમાં આઝાદીનાં ૬૩ વર્ષ બાદ હજી ૧૨ ટકા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ ઉચ્ચશિક્ષણ યાને કે કોલેજ સુધી પહોંચે છે અર્થાત ૮૮ ટકા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ યુનિવર્સિટીના શિક્ષણથી એક યા બીજા કારણસર વંચિત રહે છે. આ માહિતી નવી નથી પરંતુ એનું વિશ્લેષણ રસપ્રદ છે.
ફકત ૧૨ ટકા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ ડિગ્રી મેળવતા હોવા છતાં શિક્ષિત બેકારોની સંખ્યા ભારતમાં અમેરિકા અને યુરોપ કરતાં વધુ છે. કારણ? ભારતમાં શિક્ષિત યુવાનો માટે યોગ્ય તકોનો અભાવ છે ? સંખ્યાબંધ ક્ષેત્રોમાં હજી આજે પણ કેળવાયેલા-કૌશલ્યવાન સ્નાતકો મળતા નથી. જયારે કેટલીક વિદ્યાશાખાઓ માત્ર બેકારોની ફેક્ટરી સાબિત થઈ ચૂકી છે. આ અસંતુલન શા માટે ? કારણ કે યુવાનોને દશમા અને બારમા ધોરણના સ્તરે કારકિર્દીની યોગ્ય સમજ અપાતી નથી.
માત્ર બીબાંઢાળ વાતો કરીને વડીલો અને શિક્ષકો મારો દીકરો કે વિદ્યાર્થી ડોકટર, એન્જિનિયર, ચાર્ટર્ડ એકાઉન્ટ, આઇએએસ - આઇપીએસ અફસર, વકીલ કે શિક્ષક બનાવવાનું નક્કી કરી નાંખે છે. કારકિર્દીમાં નવીન અભિગમ (ઇનોવેશન) વિશે કોઈ વાત કરતું નથી. બેન ફ્રેન્કલીને બાઇફોકલ લેન્સ બનાવ્યા, થોમસ આલ્વા એડશિને વીજળીનો બલ્બ બનાવ્યો. હેનરી ફોર્ડે કાર ઉત્પાદનના ક્ષેત્રમાં એસેમ્બલી લાઇન નામનો નવો શબ્દ-ખ્યાલ-સિદ્ધાંત આપ્યો.
આજે એડવાન્સ માઇક્રોપ્રોસેસરનો જમાનો છે. અમેરિકામાં હાર્વર્ડ યુનિવર્સિટીમાંથી હકાલપટ્ટી બાદ પણ બિલ ગેટ્સ વિશ્વનો સૌથી સફળ બઝિનેસમેન અને શ્રીમંત વ્યક્તિ બની શકે છે. જયારે ભારતમાં કરોડો યુવાનો યોગ્ય તકથી વંચિત રહી જાય છે શા માટે? કારણ કે કારકિર્દી માર્ગદર્શનના નામે ઉપલક માહિતી છે. ૨૧મી સદીમાં સંભવિત તકોને આધારે કારકિર્દી કેળવવા માટે યોગ્ય જ્ઞાન કે તાલીમ જવલ્લે જ જોવા મળે છે.
હાર્વર્ડ યુનિવર્સિટી આજે પણ પોતાના પ્રચારમાં મજાકમાં કહે છે કે અમારે ત્યાં ડ્રોપ આઉટ પણ બિલ ગેટ્સ જેવા પાકે છે. જમાનો ગ્લોબલાઇઝેશનનો છે. વિશ્વનો ટ્રેન્ડ સર્વાગી વિકાસ તરફનો છે. કનેક્ટીવિટી હશે ત્યાં જ પ્રગતિ થશે. ભારતમાં ઇન્ટરનેટ સંખ્યાની દ્રષ્ટિએ વધુ છે. ટકાવારીની દ્રષ્ટિએ માંડ છ ટકા પણ નથી.
દુનિયા બદલાઈ રહી છે ત્યારે આપણે પણ જુની માનસિકતા બદલવી પડશે. શેરબજારમાં ઇન્વેસ્ટ (મૂડીરોકાણ) કરતા પહેલાં સ્ક્રીપ વિશે એકસ-રે કાઢવાનું આપણે ચૂકતા નથી. કારકિર્દીના સંદર્ભમાં કદી વિચાર્યું છે? નોલેજ ઇકોનોમી અને ગ્લોબલાઇઝેશનનો તાળો મેળવવા પ્રયાસ કરશો તો પ્રતીતિ થશે કે ભવિષ્યમાં એનર્જી (ઊર્જા) એનવિરોનમેન્ટ (પર્યાવરણ), હેલ્થ (આરોગ્ય), સિકયોરિટી (સુરક્ષા) અને ડિજિટલ ઇકોનોમી ઉપરાંત નેનો સાયન્સ-નેનો ટેકનોલોજીનો જમાનો આવશે.
આ ક્ષેત્રમાં તાલીમાર્થીઓથી માંડીને તજ્જ્ઞોની જરૂર પડશે. ભારતે ઇન્ફોર્મેશન ટેકનોલોજી અને ટેલિકોમમાં કાઠું કાઢયું છે. બીપીઓ અને કેપીઓમાં ભારતીય ઉદ્યોગની હરણફાળથી ખુદ ઓબામા અંજાઈ ગયા હતા. અમેરિકી કંપનીઓએ ભારતમાં ઘસડાઈ જતા ધંધા સામે વધુ ટેકસ કે પ્રતબિંધ મૂકવાની માગણી કરી હતી. ઓબામા આજે પણ અમેરિકાની શાળા-કોલેજમાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓને સંબોધે ત્યારે એક વાત અવશ્ય કહે છે કે મહેનત કરો નહીંતર ભારતીય વિદ્યાર્થીઓ તમને ઓવરટેક કરી જશે.
વાતનો સાર એ છે કે બદલાતા સમયમાં અન્ય ક્ષેત્રોમાં પણ સજજતા કેળવવી પડશે. નાસ્કોમ-મેકેન્સીનો લેટેસ્ટ રિપોર્ટ કહે છે કે આવનારા દશ વર્ષમાં હેલ્થકેર, મીડિયા, ફાર્માસ્યુટિકલ્સ, ટેલિકોમ, ટ્રાન્સપોટેંશન, પબ્લિક સેકટર, સર્વિસ સેકટર અને શિક્ષણક્ષેત્રે સૌથી વધુ મૂડીરોકાણ આવશે અને આ જ ક્ષેત્રોમાં રોજગારીની તકો સૌથી વધુ ઉદ્ભવશે. દુનિયાભરની શ્રેષ્ઠ યુનિવર્સિટીઓ શા માટે ભારતમાં કેમ્પસ સ્થાપવા, નોલેજ પાર્ક બનાવવા ઇચ્છે છે ? કારણ કે ભારતમાં ૮૮ ટકા યુવાનો હજી કોલેજમાં જતા નથી.
આ મોટું ‘માર્કેટ’ કબજે કરવા આગામી પાંચ વર્ષમાં પડાપડી થશે. ભારત સરકાર આઇઆઇટી અને આઇઆઇએમની સંખ્યા વધારીને બમણી કરવા ઇચ્છે છે પરંતુ ક્વોલિફાઇડ પ્રોફેસર મળતા નથી. એવિએશન (નાગરિક અને ખાનગી ઉડ્ડયન) ક્ષેત્રોમાં વિમાનોની સંખ્યા વધે છે પરંતુ પાઇલટ્સની સંખ્યા પૂરતી નથી. આવનારા દશ વર્ષમાં એવિએશન ક્ષેત્રમાં પાઇલટ્સની ખોટ સર્જાશે. એક અંદાજ અનુસાર ઇન્ડિયન એરફોર્સના હયાત અને નિવૃત્ત તમામ પાઇલટ્સને જો ખાનગીક્ષેત્રમાં નોકરી અપાય તો પણ કમસે કમ દશ હજાર પાઇલટ્સની ઘટ પડશે.
આજે ભારતમાં પાઇલટ્સ મળતા નથી એટલે વિદેશી પાઇલટ્સને ઊંચા ભાવે નોકરીએ રાખવાની નોબત આવી છે. ભારતમાં મેડિકલ ટુરઝિમ વધી રહ્યું છે. અમેરિકા અને યુરોપની સરખામણીમાં ભારતીય ખાનગી હોસ્પિટલો એકંદરે વાજબી અને ગુણવત્તાસભર ટ્રીટમેન્ટ આપે છે. પરંતુ હોસ્પિટલોનું ઇન્ફ્રાસ્ટ્રકચર પાંચ વર્ષ પછીના ઇન ટેકને લેવા સક્ષમ નથી.
ગ્લોબલાઇઝેશનની સાથે તકો પ્રાપ્ત થાય છે. તેમ પડકારો પણ આવી રહ્યા છે. શિક્ષણ અને હેલ્થકેરમાં અપગ્રેડેશનની ઊણપ ઊડીને આંખે વળગે છે પરંતુ સરકાર અને ખાનગીક્ષેત્ર વચ્ચે તંતુમેળ મોટાભાગનાં રાજ્યોમાં જામતો નથી. વડોદરાની એમ. એસ. યુનિ.માં શિક્ષણનું સ્તર જુઓ અને પચાસ કિલોમીટરના વિસ્તારમાં આવેલી વાઘોડિયા, સાવલી, જંબુસર અને ડભોઈની કોલેજો જુઓ તો ઇન્ફ્રાસ્ટ્રકચર, લાઇબ્રેરી, ફેકલ્ટી મેમ્બર્સની સંખ્યા અને ગુણવત્તામાં નોંધપાત્ર તફાવત જોવા મળશે.
શા માટે ગ્રામીણક્ષેત્રમાં સારી સવલતો અને પુસ્તકાલયો ઉપલબ્ધ થતાં નથી ? ગ્રામ વિસ્તારની કોલેજોમાં અનુસ્નાતક અને પીએચડીની સવલતો શા માટે પાંખી જોવા મળે છે. સરકાર ખાનગીક્ષેત્રને છેવાડાના વિસ્તારોમાં યુનિવર્સિટીઓ અને હોસ્પિટલો બાંધવા શા માટે દબાણ કરતી નથી ? એમ.એસ. યુનિવર્સિટીમાં ભણેલા વેંકટરમણ રામક્રિષ્ણનને (વેંકી) નોબેલ પ્રાઇઝ મળ્યું એ બાબત સમગ્ર ભારતે ગૌરવ લેવા જેવી છે પરંતુ આ જ વેંકીને ત્રણ વર્ષ સુધી લેકચરર કે રિસર્ચર તરીકે ભારતની કોઈ યુનિ.માં જોબ મળી નહોતી.
દુર્ભાગ્યે જોબ મળી હોત તો વેંકીને કદાચ નોબેલ પ્રાઇઝ ન જ મળ્યું હોત. કારણ કે ભારતમાં રિસર્ચ માટેનો માહોલ હજી ખીલ્યો નથી. રિસર્ચ એ ફ્યૂચર નોલેજની પ્રાથમિક શરત છે. નોલેજ ઇકોનોમીમાં રિસર્ચ વિના વેલ્થ (સંપત્તિ) જનરેટ (પેદા) ન થઈ શકે. ઇન્ફોર્મેશન ટેકનોલોજીમાં ભારતે અગ્રેસર રહેવા વેબ, પ્રાઇવેસી, સર્વિસ, ડિલિવરી, ઇમેજ પ્રોસેસિંગ, રોબોટિકસ અને વેરી લાર્જ સ્કેલ ઇન્ટિગ્રેશનના ક્ષેત્રમાં રિસર્ચ એન્ડ ડેવલપમેન્ટ કરવું પડશે.
મેડિકલના ક્ષેત્રમાં ટેકનોલોજીનું પ્રભુત્વ વધી રહ્યું છે. મેડિસિનની નવી બ્રાંચમાં નિકટના ભવિષ્યમાં બાયો ડિઝાઇનિંગ, બાયો મેડિકલ રિસર્ચ, નેનો ટેકનોલોજી, સ્ટેમ સેલ ટેકનોલોજી, ડીએનએ મેપિંગ, જિનેટિક એન્જિનિયિંરગ, લેસર ટેકનોલોજી, જીનોમ્સ સ્કેનિંગ, મોલેકયુલર મિકેનિકસનો સમાવેશ થાય છે.
આ બ્રાંચોમાં બાયોલોજી અને ઝુઓલોજી ઉપરાંત ફિઝિકસ અને કેમસ્ટિ્રીના રિસર્ચનો સુભગ સમન્વય જોવા મળે છે. ડીએનએ મેપિંગ અને જીનોમ્સ સ્કેનિંગથી કેન્સર જેવા રોગો થવાની સંભાવનાને જડમૂળથી નિવારી શકાશે.
આજકાલ બાળકના જન્મ સાથે ગર્ભનાળને સ્ટેમ સેલ બેન્કની સેફ ડિપોઝિટમાં મૂકવાનો નવો વ્યવસાય શરૂ થયો છે. સ્ટેમ સેલ ટેકનોલોજીની મદદથી આ બાળકોને ભવિષ્યમાં જનીનજન્ય રોગોથી બચાવી શકાશે. મેડિકલ ક્ષેત્રમાં ગજબની ક્રાંતિ આવી રહી છે. દા.ત. ડાયાબિટીસના દર્દીના મોંની અંદરના કોષોને લઈને પેન્ક્રિયાટિક બીટા સેલ્સ ઉત્પન્ન કરાશે, જેના શરીરમાં પ્રત્યારોપણથી ઇન્સ્યુલિનનું ઉત્પાદન વધી જશે અને લોહીમાં શર્કરા ભળતી ઓછી થશે.
મેડિકલના ક્ષેત્રમાં એકેડમિક રિસર્ચ, એપિ્લકેશન રિલેટેડ રિસર્ચ, ક્લિનિકલ ટ્રાયલ રિસર્ચ, ફામૉસ્યુટિકલ, એન્ઝાઇમ એન્ડ સેલ રિસર્ચની પાંખો વિસ્તરી રહી છે. જાહેર આરોગ્યના ક્ષેત્રમાં હવે દુનિયાભરમાં રોગો નિવારવાની દિશામાં જબરજસ્ત સંશોધન થઈ રહ્યું છે. વૈશ્વિકીકરણના જમાનામાં રોગચાળો દુનિયાભરમાં વિમાનની ઝડપે પ્રસરે છે. સ્વાઇન ફ્લૂનો કિસ્સો યાદ છે ને ?
ઇજનેરી ક્ષેત્રમાં સિવિલ, મિકેનિકલ અને ઇલેક્ટ્રિટ્રકલની મૂળભૂત બ્રાંચોમાં હવે સંખ્યાબંધ શાખાઓ અને પ્રશાખાઓ ઉત્તરોત્તર ઉમેરાઈ રહી છે. ઇલેકટ્રોનિકસ, કોમ્પ્યુટર અને આઇટી ઉપરાંત મરીન ટેકનોલોજી, ઓસન એન્જિનિયિંરગ, એનવિરોનમેન્ટ, પ્લાસ્ટિક, જિનોમિકસ, મેગ્નેટિક, રિઝોનન્સ, ઇમેજિંગ, સ્પેસ, રડાર, એવિએશન, મોબાઇલ, ઇન્ફોટેક, કોમ્યુનિકેશન, મિકેટ્રોનિકસ, રોબોટિકસ, મલ્ટિમીડિયા સહિત જાતજાતના ગણ્યા ગણાય નહીં એવા વિષયો આવી રહ્યા છે.
જ્ઞાનનું ફલક વિસ્તરી રહ્યું છે. મેડિકલ અને એન્જિનિયિંરગ સાથે આર્ટ્સ, ફાઇન આટ્ર્સ, સાયન્સ, સોશિયલ વકર્સ જોડાઈ રહ્યાં છે. ડિઝાસ્ટર મેનેજમેન્ટ આનો બોલતો પુરાવો છે. કમનસીબે ભારતમાં ઇન્ટર ડિસિપિલનરી અપ્રોચ એટલે કે વિદ્યાશાખાઓ વચ્ચે સંકલનના અભિગમમાં ખોટ અને ઓટ વર્તાય છે.
અમેરિકામાં બાયોમેડિકલ એન્જિનિયિંરગની બ્રાંચનો વિદ્યાર્થી એન્જિનિયિંરગ કે મેડિસિન પૈકી કઈ ડિગ્રી મળશે એની ચિંતા કરતો નથી પરંતુ પોતાની ટેકનોલોજીથી કેન્સરનું કાયમી મારણ શોધે છે. મોલેક્યુલર બાયોલોજી અને જિનેટિકસમાં સાયન્સની તમામ વિદ્યાશાખાઓનો સમન્વય જરૂરી બને છે. કહેવાનું મૂળ તાત્પર્ય એ છે કે જ્ઞાનને હવે કોઈ એક વિદ્યાશાખામાં કે ડિગ્રીમાં કુંિઠત નહીં કરી શકાય. કોઈ બ્રાંચ નીચી કે ઊંચી નથી.
દરેક ક્ષેત્રમાં સુપર સ્પેશિયાલસ્ટિ તજ્જ્ઞોની જરૂરિયાત છે. સમયની સાથે, ગ્લોબલાઇઝેશનની પાંખે, તમામ વિદ્યાશાખાઓ જ્ઞાનના અગાધ, અમાપ આકાશમાં વહિરવા વ્યાકુળ છે. ડિગ્રી મહત્વની નહીં રહે. આવનારા દિવસોમાં કેળવણીનું મહત્વ વધશે. સમયનો તકાદો શિક્ષિતો અને બેરોજગારો વચ્ચેનો તફાવત ઘટાડવાનો છે.
ભારતમાં દર વર્ષે ૩૧ લાખ સ્નાતકો, પાંચ લાખ ઇજનેરો ડિગ્રી મેળવે છે પરંતુ ૭૫ ટકાને પણ યોગ્ય નોકરી મળતી નથી. ફકત ડિગ્રી મળવાથી જ્ઞાનપ્રાપ્તિ થતી નથી, લાયકાત કેળવાતી નથી, પરિણામે શિક્ષણનો મૂળભૂત હેતુ માર્યો જાય છે.
શિક્ષણને પુસ્તક અને વર્ગખંડની ગુલામીમાંથી આઝાદી અપાવવાનો સમય આવી ચૂકયો છે. કારકિર્દી પસંદ કરનારાઓ ભવિષ્યના ઝરૂખેથી વિચારશે અને પરિશ્રમના પરસેવે રેબઝેબ થશે તો જ સિદ્ધિ મળશે.

ઇન્ટરનેટના જમાનામાં માહિતીનું મૂલ્ય ઘટ્યું છે. જ્ઞાનનું મૂલ્ય વધ્યું છે. ગૂગલ પર કોઈ પણ વિષય અંગે સર્ચ કરો અને આંગળીના ટેરવે માહિતીનો ખજાનો ફાટી નીકળે છે, પણ જ્ઞાન મેળવવાનું કામ કપરું છે. ભારતમાં આઝાદીનાં ૬૩ વર્ષ બાદ હજી ૧૨ ટકા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ ઉચ્ચશિક્ષણ યાને કે કોલેજ સુધી પહોંચે છે અર્થાત ૮૮ ટકા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ યુનિવર્સિટીના શિક્ષણથી એક યા બીજા કારણસર વંચિત રહે છે. આ માહિતી નવી નથી પરંતુ એનું વિશ્લેષણ રસપ્રદ છે.
ફકત ૧૨ ટકા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ ડિગ્રી મેળવતા હોવા છતાં શિક્ષિત બેકારોની સંખ્યા ભારતમાં અમેરિકા અને યુરોપ કરતાં વધુ છે. કારણ? ભારતમાં શિક્ષિત યુવાનો માટે યોગ્ય તકોનો અભાવ છે ? સંખ્યાબંધ ક્ષેત્રોમાં હજી આજે પણ કેળવાયેલા-કૌશલ્યવાન સ્નાતકો મળતા નથી. જયારે કેટલીક વિદ્યાશાખાઓ માત્ર બેકારોની ફેક્ટરી સાબિત થઈ ચૂકી છે. આ અસંતુલન શા માટે ? કારણ કે યુવાનોને દશમા અને બારમા ધોરણના સ્તરે કારકિર્દીની યોગ્ય સમજ અપાતી નથી.
માત્ર બીબાંઢાળ વાતો કરીને વડીલો અને શિક્ષકો મારો દીકરો કે વિદ્યાર્થી ડોકટર, એન્જિનિયર, ચાર્ટર્ડ એકાઉન્ટ, આઇએએસ - આઇપીએસ અફસર, વકીલ કે શિક્ષક બનાવવાનું નક્કી કરી નાંખે છે. કારકિર્દીમાં નવીન અભિગમ (ઇનોવેશન) વિશે કોઈ વાત કરતું નથી. બેન ફ્રેન્કલીને બાઇફોકલ લેન્સ બનાવ્યા, થોમસ આલ્વા એડશિને વીજળીનો બલ્બ બનાવ્યો. હેનરી ફોર્ડે કાર ઉત્પાદનના ક્ષેત્રમાં એસેમ્બલી લાઇન નામનો નવો શબ્દ-ખ્યાલ-સિદ્ધાંત આપ્યો.
આજે એડવાન્સ માઇક્રોપ્રોસેસરનો જમાનો છે. અમેરિકામાં હાર્વર્ડ યુનિવર્સિટીમાંથી હકાલપટ્ટી બાદ પણ બિલ ગેટ્સ વિશ્વનો સૌથી સફળ બઝિનેસમેન અને શ્રીમંત વ્યક્તિ બની શકે છે. જયારે ભારતમાં કરોડો યુવાનો યોગ્ય તકથી વંચિત રહી જાય છે શા માટે? કારણ કે કારકિર્દી માર્ગદર્શનના નામે ઉપલક માહિતી છે. ૨૧મી સદીમાં સંભવિત તકોને આધારે કારકિર્દી કેળવવા માટે યોગ્ય જ્ઞાન કે તાલીમ જવલ્લે જ જોવા મળે છે.
હાર્વર્ડ યુનિવર્સિટી આજે પણ પોતાના પ્રચારમાં મજાકમાં કહે છે કે અમારે ત્યાં ડ્રોપ આઉટ પણ બિલ ગેટ્સ જેવા પાકે છે. જમાનો ગ્લોબલાઇઝેશનનો છે. વિશ્વનો ટ્રેન્ડ સર્વાગી વિકાસ તરફનો છે. કનેક્ટીવિટી હશે ત્યાં જ પ્રગતિ થશે. ભારતમાં ઇન્ટરનેટ સંખ્યાની દ્રષ્ટિએ વધુ છે. ટકાવારીની દ્રષ્ટિએ માંડ છ ટકા પણ નથી.
દુનિયા બદલાઈ રહી છે ત્યારે આપણે પણ જુની માનસિકતા બદલવી પડશે. શેરબજારમાં ઇન્વેસ્ટ (મૂડીરોકાણ) કરતા પહેલાં સ્ક્રીપ વિશે એકસ-રે કાઢવાનું આપણે ચૂકતા નથી. કારકિર્દીના સંદર્ભમાં કદી વિચાર્યું છે? નોલેજ ઇકોનોમી અને ગ્લોબલાઇઝેશનનો તાળો મેળવવા પ્રયાસ કરશો તો પ્રતીતિ થશે કે ભવિષ્યમાં એનર્જી (ઊર્જા) એનવિરોનમેન્ટ (પર્યાવરણ), હેલ્થ (આરોગ્ય), સિકયોરિટી (સુરક્ષા) અને ડિજિટલ ઇકોનોમી ઉપરાંત નેનો સાયન્સ-નેનો ટેકનોલોજીનો જમાનો આવશે.
આ ક્ષેત્રમાં તાલીમાર્થીઓથી માંડીને તજ્જ્ઞોની જરૂર પડશે. ભારતે ઇન્ફોર્મેશન ટેકનોલોજી અને ટેલિકોમમાં કાઠું કાઢયું છે. બીપીઓ અને કેપીઓમાં ભારતીય ઉદ્યોગની હરણફાળથી ખુદ ઓબામા અંજાઈ ગયા હતા. અમેરિકી કંપનીઓએ ભારતમાં ઘસડાઈ જતા ધંધા સામે વધુ ટેકસ કે પ્રતબિંધ મૂકવાની માગણી કરી હતી. ઓબામા આજે પણ અમેરિકાની શાળા-કોલેજમાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓને સંબોધે ત્યારે એક વાત અવશ્ય કહે છે કે મહેનત કરો નહીંતર ભારતીય વિદ્યાર્થીઓ તમને ઓવરટેક કરી જશે.
વાતનો સાર એ છે કે બદલાતા સમયમાં અન્ય ક્ષેત્રોમાં પણ સજજતા કેળવવી પડશે. નાસ્કોમ-મેકેન્સીનો લેટેસ્ટ રિપોર્ટ કહે છે કે આવનારા દશ વર્ષમાં હેલ્થકેર, મીડિયા, ફાર્માસ્યુટિકલ્સ, ટેલિકોમ, ટ્રાન્સપોટેંશન, પબ્લિક સેકટર, સર્વિસ સેકટર અને શિક્ષણક્ષેત્રે સૌથી વધુ મૂડીરોકાણ આવશે અને આ જ ક્ષેત્રોમાં રોજગારીની તકો સૌથી વધુ ઉદ્ભવશે. દુનિયાભરની શ્રેષ્ઠ યુનિવર્સિટીઓ શા માટે ભારતમાં કેમ્પસ સ્થાપવા, નોલેજ પાર્ક બનાવવા ઇચ્છે છે ? કારણ કે ભારતમાં ૮૮ ટકા યુવાનો હજી કોલેજમાં જતા નથી.
આ મોટું ‘માર્કેટ’ કબજે કરવા આગામી પાંચ વર્ષમાં પડાપડી થશે. ભારત સરકાર આઇઆઇટી અને આઇઆઇએમની સંખ્યા વધારીને બમણી કરવા ઇચ્છે છે પરંતુ ક્વોલિફાઇડ પ્રોફેસર મળતા નથી. એવિએશન (નાગરિક અને ખાનગી ઉડ્ડયન) ક્ષેત્રોમાં વિમાનોની સંખ્યા વધે છે પરંતુ પાઇલટ્સની સંખ્યા પૂરતી નથી. આવનારા દશ વર્ષમાં એવિએશન ક્ષેત્રમાં પાઇલટ્સની ખોટ સર્જાશે. એક અંદાજ અનુસાર ઇન્ડિયન એરફોર્સના હયાત અને નિવૃત્ત તમામ પાઇલટ્સને જો ખાનગીક્ષેત્રમાં નોકરી અપાય તો પણ કમસે કમ દશ હજાર પાઇલટ્સની ઘટ પડશે.
આજે ભારતમાં પાઇલટ્સ મળતા નથી એટલે વિદેશી પાઇલટ્સને ઊંચા ભાવે નોકરીએ રાખવાની નોબત આવી છે. ભારતમાં મેડિકલ ટુરઝિમ વધી રહ્યું છે. અમેરિકા અને યુરોપની સરખામણીમાં ભારતીય ખાનગી હોસ્પિટલો એકંદરે વાજબી અને ગુણવત્તાસભર ટ્રીટમેન્ટ આપે છે. પરંતુ હોસ્પિટલોનું ઇન્ફ્રાસ્ટ્રકચર પાંચ વર્ષ પછીના ઇન ટેકને લેવા સક્ષમ નથી.
ગ્લોબલાઇઝેશનની સાથે તકો પ્રાપ્ત થાય છે. તેમ પડકારો પણ આવી રહ્યા છે. શિક્ષણ અને હેલ્થકેરમાં અપગ્રેડેશનની ઊણપ ઊડીને આંખે વળગે છે પરંતુ સરકાર અને ખાનગીક્ષેત્ર વચ્ચે તંતુમેળ મોટાભાગનાં રાજ્યોમાં જામતો નથી. વડોદરાની એમ. એસ. યુનિ.માં શિક્ષણનું સ્તર જુઓ અને પચાસ કિલોમીટરના વિસ્તારમાં આવેલી વાઘોડિયા, સાવલી, જંબુસર અને ડભોઈની કોલેજો જુઓ તો ઇન્ફ્રાસ્ટ્રકચર, લાઇબ્રેરી, ફેકલ્ટી મેમ્બર્સની સંખ્યા અને ગુણવત્તામાં નોંધપાત્ર તફાવત જોવા મળશે.
શા માટે ગ્રામીણક્ષેત્રમાં સારી સવલતો અને પુસ્તકાલયો ઉપલબ્ધ થતાં નથી ? ગ્રામ વિસ્તારની કોલેજોમાં અનુસ્નાતક અને પીએચડીની સવલતો શા માટે પાંખી જોવા મળે છે. સરકાર ખાનગીક્ષેત્રને છેવાડાના વિસ્તારોમાં યુનિવર્સિટીઓ અને હોસ્પિટલો બાંધવા શા માટે દબાણ કરતી નથી ? એમ.એસ. યુનિવર્સિટીમાં ભણેલા વેંકટરમણ રામક્રિષ્ણનને (વેંકી) નોબેલ પ્રાઇઝ મળ્યું એ બાબત સમગ્ર ભારતે ગૌરવ લેવા જેવી છે પરંતુ આ જ વેંકીને ત્રણ વર્ષ સુધી લેકચરર કે રિસર્ચર તરીકે ભારતની કોઈ યુનિ.માં જોબ મળી નહોતી.
દુર્ભાગ્યે જોબ મળી હોત તો વેંકીને કદાચ નોબેલ પ્રાઇઝ ન જ મળ્યું હોત. કારણ કે ભારતમાં રિસર્ચ માટેનો માહોલ હજી ખીલ્યો નથી. રિસર્ચ એ ફ્યૂચર નોલેજની પ્રાથમિક શરત છે. નોલેજ ઇકોનોમીમાં રિસર્ચ વિના વેલ્થ (સંપત્તિ) જનરેટ (પેદા) ન થઈ શકે. ઇન્ફોર્મેશન ટેકનોલોજીમાં ભારતે અગ્રેસર રહેવા વેબ, પ્રાઇવેસી, સર્વિસ, ડિલિવરી, ઇમેજ પ્રોસેસિંગ, રોબોટિકસ અને વેરી લાર્જ સ્કેલ ઇન્ટિગ્રેશનના ક્ષેત્રમાં રિસર્ચ એન્ડ ડેવલપમેન્ટ કરવું પડશે.
મેડિકલના ક્ષેત્રમાં ટેકનોલોજીનું પ્રભુત્વ વધી રહ્યું છે. મેડિસિનની નવી બ્રાંચમાં નિકટના ભવિષ્યમાં બાયો ડિઝાઇનિંગ, બાયો મેડિકલ રિસર્ચ, નેનો ટેકનોલોજી, સ્ટેમ સેલ ટેકનોલોજી, ડીએનએ મેપિંગ, જિનેટિક એન્જિનિયિંરગ, લેસર ટેકનોલોજી, જીનોમ્સ સ્કેનિંગ, મોલેકયુલર મિકેનિકસનો સમાવેશ થાય છે.
આ બ્રાંચોમાં બાયોલોજી અને ઝુઓલોજી ઉપરાંત ફિઝિકસ અને કેમસ્ટિ્રીના રિસર્ચનો સુભગ સમન્વય જોવા મળે છે. ડીએનએ મેપિંગ અને જીનોમ્સ સ્કેનિંગથી કેન્સર જેવા રોગો થવાની સંભાવનાને જડમૂળથી નિવારી શકાશે.
આજકાલ બાળકના જન્મ સાથે ગર્ભનાળને સ્ટેમ સેલ બેન્કની સેફ ડિપોઝિટમાં મૂકવાનો નવો વ્યવસાય શરૂ થયો છે. સ્ટેમ સેલ ટેકનોલોજીની મદદથી આ બાળકોને ભવિષ્યમાં જનીનજન્ય રોગોથી બચાવી શકાશે. મેડિકલ ક્ષેત્રમાં ગજબની ક્રાંતિ આવી રહી છે. દા.ત. ડાયાબિટીસના દર્દીના મોંની અંદરના કોષોને લઈને પેન્ક્રિયાટિક બીટા સેલ્સ ઉત્પન્ન કરાશે, જેના શરીરમાં પ્રત્યારોપણથી ઇન્સ્યુલિનનું ઉત્પાદન વધી જશે અને લોહીમાં શર્કરા ભળતી ઓછી થશે.
મેડિકલના ક્ષેત્રમાં એકેડમિક રિસર્ચ, એપિ્લકેશન રિલેટેડ રિસર્ચ, ક્લિનિકલ ટ્રાયલ રિસર્ચ, ફામૉસ્યુટિકલ, એન્ઝાઇમ એન્ડ સેલ રિસર્ચની પાંખો વિસ્તરી રહી છે. જાહેર આરોગ્યના ક્ષેત્રમાં હવે દુનિયાભરમાં રોગો નિવારવાની દિશામાં જબરજસ્ત સંશોધન થઈ રહ્યું છે. વૈશ્વિકીકરણના જમાનામાં રોગચાળો દુનિયાભરમાં વિમાનની ઝડપે પ્રસરે છે. સ્વાઇન ફ્લૂનો કિસ્સો યાદ છે ને ?
ઇજનેરી ક્ષેત્રમાં સિવિલ, મિકેનિકલ અને ઇલેક્ટ્રિટ્રકલની મૂળભૂત બ્રાંચોમાં હવે સંખ્યાબંધ શાખાઓ અને પ્રશાખાઓ ઉત્તરોત્તર ઉમેરાઈ રહી છે. ઇલેકટ્રોનિકસ, કોમ્પ્યુટર અને આઇટી ઉપરાંત મરીન ટેકનોલોજી, ઓસન એન્જિનિયિંરગ, એનવિરોનમેન્ટ, પ્લાસ્ટિક, જિનોમિકસ, મેગ્નેટિક, રિઝોનન્સ, ઇમેજિંગ, સ્પેસ, રડાર, એવિએશન, મોબાઇલ, ઇન્ફોટેક, કોમ્યુનિકેશન, મિકેટ્રોનિકસ, રોબોટિકસ, મલ્ટિમીડિયા સહિત જાતજાતના ગણ્યા ગણાય નહીં એવા વિષયો આવી રહ્યા છે.
જ્ઞાનનું ફલક વિસ્તરી રહ્યું છે. મેડિકલ અને એન્જિનિયિંરગ સાથે આર્ટ્સ, ફાઇન આટ્ર્સ, સાયન્સ, સોશિયલ વકર્સ જોડાઈ રહ્યાં છે. ડિઝાસ્ટર મેનેજમેન્ટ આનો બોલતો પુરાવો છે. કમનસીબે ભારતમાં ઇન્ટર ડિસિપિલનરી અપ્રોચ એટલે કે વિદ્યાશાખાઓ વચ્ચે સંકલનના અભિગમમાં ખોટ અને ઓટ વર્તાય છે.
અમેરિકામાં બાયોમેડિકલ એન્જિનિયિંરગની બ્રાંચનો વિદ્યાર્થી એન્જિનિયિંરગ કે મેડિસિન પૈકી કઈ ડિગ્રી મળશે એની ચિંતા કરતો નથી પરંતુ પોતાની ટેકનોલોજીથી કેન્સરનું કાયમી મારણ શોધે છે. મોલેક્યુલર બાયોલોજી અને જિનેટિકસમાં સાયન્સની તમામ વિદ્યાશાખાઓનો સમન્વય જરૂરી બને છે. કહેવાનું મૂળ તાત્પર્ય એ છે કે જ્ઞાનને હવે કોઈ એક વિદ્યાશાખામાં કે ડિગ્રીમાં કુંિઠત નહીં કરી શકાય. કોઈ બ્રાંચ નીચી કે ઊંચી નથી.
દરેક ક્ષેત્રમાં સુપર સ્પેશિયાલસ્ટિ તજ્જ્ઞોની જરૂરિયાત છે. સમયની સાથે, ગ્લોબલાઇઝેશનની પાંખે, તમામ વિદ્યાશાખાઓ જ્ઞાનના અગાધ, અમાપ આકાશમાં વહિરવા વ્યાકુળ છે. ડિગ્રી મહત્વની નહીં રહે. આવનારા દિવસોમાં કેળવણીનું મહત્વ વધશે. સમયનો તકાદો શિક્ષિતો અને બેરોજગારો વચ્ચેનો તફાવત ઘટાડવાનો છે.
ભારતમાં દર વર્ષે ૩૧ લાખ સ્નાતકો, પાંચ લાખ ઇજનેરો ડિગ્રી મેળવે છે પરંતુ ૭૫ ટકાને પણ યોગ્ય નોકરી મળતી નથી. ફકત ડિગ્રી મળવાથી જ્ઞાનપ્રાપ્તિ થતી નથી, લાયકાત કેળવાતી નથી, પરિણામે શિક્ષણનો મૂળભૂત હેતુ માર્યો જાય છે.
શિક્ષણને પુસ્તક અને વર્ગખંડની ગુલામીમાંથી આઝાદી અપાવવાનો સમય આવી ચૂકયો છે. કારકિર્દી પસંદ કરનારાઓ ભવિષ્યના ઝરૂખેથી વિચારશે અને પરિશ્રમના પરસેવે રેબઝેબ થશે તો જ સિદ્ધિ મળશે.

There was a one hour interview on CNBC with Warren Buffet, the second richest man who has donated $31 billion to charity. Here are some very interesting aspects of his life:
=> He bought his first share at age 11 and he now regrets that he started too late!
=> He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering newspapers.
=> He still lives in the same small 3-bedroom house in mid-town Omaha, that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence.
=> He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people around him.
=> He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world’s largest private jet company.
=> He has given his CEO’s only two rules. Rule number 1: do not lose any of your share holder’s money. Rule number 2: Do not forget rule number 1.
=> He does not socialize with the high society crowd. His past time after he gets home is to make himself some pop corn and watch Television.
=> Bill Gates, the world’s richest man met him for the first time only 5 years ago. Bill Gates did not think he had anything in common with Warren Buffet. जिन्दगी ये किस मोड पे ले आयी है,
ना मा, बाप, बहन, ना यहा कोई भाई है.
हर लडकी का है Boy Friend, हर लडके ने Girl Friend पायी है,
चंद दिनो के है ये रिश्ते, फिर वही रुसवायी है.
घर जाना Home Sickness कहलाता है,
पर Girl Friend से मिलने को टाईम रोज मिल जाता है.
दो दिन से नही पुछा मां की तबीयत का हाल,
Girl Friend से पल-पल की खबर पायी है,
जिन्दगी ये किस मोड पे ले आयी है…..
कभी खुली हवा मे घुमते थे,
अब AC की आदत लगायी है.
धुप हमसे सहन नही होती,
हर कोई देता यही दुहाई है.
मेहनत के काम हम करते नही,
इसीलिये Gym जाने की नौबत आयी है.
McDonalds, PizaaHut जाने लगे,
दाल-रोटी तो मुश्कील से खायी है.
जिन्दगी ये किस मोड पे ले आयी है…..
Work Relation हमने बडाये,
पर दोस्तो की संख्या घटायी है.
Professional ने की है तरक्की,
Social ने मुंह की खायी है.
जिन्दगी ये किस मोड पे ले आयी है

INDIAN economy is in a crisis. Our country like many other ASIAN countries is undergoing a severe economic crunch. Many INDIAN industries are closing down.. The INDIAN economy is in a crisis and if we do not take proper steps to control those, we will be in a critical situation.
More than 30000 crore rupees of foreign exchange are being siphoned out of our country on products such as cosmetics, snacks, tea, beverages.... etc which are grown, produced and consumed here.
A cold drink that costs only 70 / 80 paisa to produce is sold for NINE rupees, and a major chunk of profits from these are sent abroad. This is a serious drain on INDIAN economy.
We have nothing against Multinational companies, but to protect our own interests we request everybody to use INDIAN products only for next two years. With the rise in petrol prices, if we do not do this, the rupee will devalue further and we will end up paying much more for the same products in the near future.
What you can do about it?
1. Buy only products manufactured by WHOLLY INDIAN COMPANIES.
2. ENROLL as many people as possible for this cause.

1.If the mind is intensely eager, everything can be accomplished—mountains can be crumbled into atoms.
2.Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life – think of it, dream of it, live on idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.
3.Come out into the universe of Light. Everything in the universe is yours, stretch out your arms and embrace it with love. If you every felt you wanted to do that, you have felt God.
4.All knowledge that the world has ever received comes from the mind; the infinite library of the universe is in our own mind.
5.Stand up, be bold, be strong. Take the whole responsibility on your own shoulders, and know that you are the creator of your own destiny. All the strength and succor you want is within yourself. Therefore make your own future.
6.There is no help for you outside of yourself; you are the creator of the universe. Like the silkworm you have built a cocoon around yourself…. Burst your own cocoon and come out aw the beautiful butterfly, as the free soul. Then alone you will see Truth.
7.It is our own mental attitude which makes the world what it is for us. Our thought make things beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly. The whole world is in our own minds. Learn to see things in the proper light. First, believe in this world, that there is meaning behind everything. Everything in the world is good, is holy and beautiful. If you see something evil, think that you do not understand it in the right light. Throw the burden on yourselves!
8.Hold to the idea, “I am not the mind, I see that I am thinking, I am watching my mind act,” and each day the identification of yourself with thoughts and feelings will grow less, until at last you can entirely separate yourself from the mind and actually know it to be apart from yourself.
9.All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore love for love’s sake, because it is law of life, just as you breathe to live.
10.Our duty is to encourage every one in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth.
11.Even the greatest fool can accomplish a task if it were after his or her heart. But the intelligent ones are those who can convert every work into one that suits their taste.
12.Condemn none: if you can stretch out a helping hand, do so. If you cannot, fold your hands, bless your brothers and let them go their own way.
13.Each work has to pass through these stages—ridicule, opposition, and then acceptance. Those who think ahead of their time are sure to be misunderstood.
14.If you think that you are bound, you remain bound; you make your own bondage. If you know that you are free, you are free this moment. This is knowledge, knowledge of freedom. Freedom is the goal of all nature.
15.As long as we believe ourselves to be even the least different from God, fear remains with us; but when we know ourselves to be the One, fear goes; of what can we be afraid?
16.Your Atman is the support of the universe—whose support do you stand in need of? Wait with patience and love and strength. If helpers are not ready now, they will come in time. Why should we be in a hurry? The real working force of all great work is in its almost unperceived beginnings.
17.Learning and wisdom are superfluities, the surface glitter merely, but it is the heart that is the seat of all power. It is not in the brain but in the heart that the Atman, possessed of knowledge, power, and activity, has its seat.
18.Understanding human nature is the highest knowledge, and only by knowing it can we know God? It is also a fact that the knowledge of God is the highest knowledge, and only by knowing God can we understand human nature
19.Purity, patience, and perseverance are the three essentials to success and, above all, love.
20.If you want to have life, you have to die every moment for it. Life and death are only different expressions of the same thing looked at from different standpoints; they are the falling and the rising of the same wave, and the two form one whole.
21.Each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divinity within by controlling nature, external and internal. Do this either by work, or worship or psychic control or philosophy – by one or more or all of these and be free.
